Ge\u00e7mi\u015fte erkekler taraf\u0131ndan sessizle\u015ftirilen ve h\u00e2kimiyet alt\u0131nda tutulan kad\u0131nlar art\u0131k seslerini y\u00fckseltiyor, kad\u0131n meseleleri hakk\u0131nda cesurca konu\u015fuyor, dergiler ve gazeteler kuruyor, k\u0131z \u00e7ocuklar\u0131 e\u011fitiyor, eylem \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131lar\u0131 yap\u0131yor ve binlerce yetimin bak\u0131m\u0131yla ilgileniyorlard\u0131. Harekete ge\u00e7mi\u015flerdi.<\/p>\n<p>Yazar, \u015fair ve denemeci Zaruhi Kalemkaryan, onlardan biriydi. Bir zamanlar d\u00fcnyan\u0131n bir\u00e7ok yerindeki Ermeni topluluklar\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan gayet iyi bilinen ve sevilen Kalemkaryan\u2019\u0131 bug\u00fcn pek hat\u0131rlayan yok.<\/p>\n<p>Zaruhi, ilk feminist Ermeni yazarlardan biri olarak, arkas\u0131nda makaleler, denemeler, an\u0131 yaz\u0131lar\u0131 ve \u015fiirlerden olu\u015fan, zengin bir miras b\u0131rakt\u0131. Ermeni halk\u0131n\u0131n ge\u00e7mi\u015fiyle bar\u0131\u015fmak i\u00e7in her zamankinden daha fazla \u00e7aba sarf etti\u011fi g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde Zaruhi\u2019ninki gibi sesleri yeniden ke\u015ffetmeye, daha iyi bir gelecek in\u015fa etmeye \u00e7abalarken onlar\u0131n fikirlerine sar\u0131lmaya her zamankinden daha fazla ihtiya\u00e7 var.<\/p>\n<p>Zaruhi 18 Temmuz 1874\u2019te \u0130stanbul\u2019da, varl\u0131kl\u0131 bir t\u00fcccar olan A\u015fod Seferyan ve e\u015fi Peruze Demirciba\u015fyan\u2019\u0131n \u00e7ocu\u011fu olarak d\u00fcnyaya geldi. Kad\u0131k\u00f6y\u2019de b\u00fcy\u00fcd\u00fc. Aramyan Okulu\u2019nda e\u011fitim g\u00f6rd\u00fc. Hat\u0131rat\u0131nda, geli\u015fiminde \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli bir rol oynayan bu kurum i\u00e7in \u201cikinci evimdi\u201d diyecekti.(1) Edebiyatla ilgilenmeye orada ba\u015flad\u0131, ilk k\u0131sa \u015fiirlerini orada yazd\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Ayd\u0131n bir \u00e7evre i\u00e7inde yeti\u015fti. Yazar ve entelekt\u00fcel\/kamusal bir fig\u00fcr olarak geli\u015fiminde day\u0131s\u0131, \u00fcnl\u00fc yazar Ye\u011fya Demirciba\u015fyan\u2019\u0131n etkisi b\u00fcy\u00fck oldu. 1890\u2019lar\u0131n ba\u015flar\u0131nda, \u2018Efterpi\u2019 (Yunan mitolojisindeki tanr\u0131\u00e7alardan, \u015fiir ve m\u00fczi\u011fin ilham perisi) m\u00fcstear ad\u0131yla imzalad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u015fiirleri, aralar\u0131nda \u2018Manzume-i Efk\u00e2r\u2019 ve \u2018P\u00fczantiyon\u2019un da bulundu\u011fu baz\u0131 gazetelerde \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131. (2) Ayr\u0131ca, 1892\u20131894 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda \u00fc\u00e7 \u015fiir kitab\u0131 yay\u0131mland\u0131: \u2018N\u0131vagn Yevterpiya\u2019 [Efterpi\u2019nin \u015eark\u0131s\u0131], \u2018M\u0131rmunc\u2019 [F\u0131s\u0131lt\u0131], \u2018Zartonk\u2019 [Uyan\u0131\u015f].<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frans\u0131z edebiyat\u0131ndan ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 ilham<\/strong><br \/>\nEn b\u00fcy\u00fck ilham kayna\u011f\u0131 d\u00f6nemin Frans\u0131z edebiyat\u0131 oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in, \u015fiirlerinin ana temalar\u0131n\u0131n a\u015fk, insanlar\u0131n ya\u015fad\u0131\u011f\u0131 trajediler ve toplumsal adaletsizlik olmas\u0131 \u015fa\u015f\u0131rt\u0131c\u0131 de\u011fildir. Ancak bu konular, erkeklerin a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131kta oldu\u011fu entelekt\u00fcel \u00e7evrelerde pek ho\u015f kar\u015f\u0131lanm\u0131yordu. Tarih\u00e7i Hasmik Khalapyan, Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu\u2019nun s\u00f6n d\u00f6neminde Ermeni kad\u0131nlar\u0131n yazarl\u0131k faaliyetlerine ili\u015fkin makalesinde, 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l sonlar\u0131nda Ermeni toplumunda en \u00e7ok ulusal kimlik, k\u00fclt\u00fcr, aile ve e\u011fitim meseleleri \u00fczerine konu\u015fuldu\u011funu, bu ba\u011flamda Ermeni kad\u0131n yazarlar\u0131n \u00f6zel bir misyonu oldu\u011funu ve \u201chem kendi reformlar\u0131ndan ge\u00e7mi\u015f, hem de reformcu kad\u0131nlar olarak kamusal tart\u0131\u015fmalarda yer almaya davet edildiklerini\u201d belirtir. (3)<\/p>\n<p>Bu kad\u0131nlardan biri de Zaruhi Kalmekaryan\u2019d\u0131. P\u00fczantiyon gazetesinin edit\u00f6r\u00fc P\u00fczant Ke\u00e7yan, Zaruhi\u2019nin ilk \u015fiir kitab\u0131n\u0131 yay\u0131mlad\u0131ktan sonra, ona, \u00e7i\u00e7ekler, deniz, g\u00fcne\u015f \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve ku\u015flar\u0131 konu etmek yerine, bir kad\u0131n\u0131n hayat\u0131n\u0131n en \u00f6nemli unsurlar\u0131 olan aileye ve \u00e7ocuklara odaklanmas\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yleyecekti:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Bana bilhassa, kad\u0131n\u0131n ev i\u00e7indeki rol\u00fc ve aile saadetini kuvvetlendiren y\u00f6nleri, tebess\u00fcm\u00fc, cazibesi, nezaketi, fedak\u00e2rl\u0131\u011f\u0131, sevgisi \u00fczerine yazmam\u0131, aile \u00e7evrelerine girmemi sal\u0131k verdi. Cemiyetin insafs\u0131z tenkitleri kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda deh\u015fete d\u00fc\u015fen bir gen\u00e7 k\u0131z, kendi y\u00fcre\u011finin \u015fark\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yleyemezdi.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kad\u0131nlar kendilerini ifade ediyor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>20. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131nda, \u0130stanbul\u2019da yay\u0131mlanan \u00e7e\u015fitli dergilerde kad\u0131nlara \u00f6zel sayfalar ayr\u0131lmaya ve kad\u0131n dergileri yay\u0131mlanmaya ba\u015flamas\u0131yla, kad\u0131n yazarlar\u0131n d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerini \u00f6zg\u00fcrce ifade edebilecekleri, yeni ve ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131z bir zemin olu\u015ftu. Yeni yeti\u015fen Ermeni kad\u0131n yazarlar feminizm ve kad\u0131n haklar\u0131 \u00fczerine hararetli bir \u015fekilde konu\u015fuyor, \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fck taleplerini dile getiriyorlard\u0131. Hayganu\u015f Mark (1884\u20131966) ve Anayis (1872\u20131950) gibi, Zaruhi de, en aktif feminist seslerden biri olmu\u015ftu. En pop\u00fcler g\u00fcnl\u00fck gazetelerden birinde kad\u0131n b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc haz\u0131rlamaya ba\u015flad\u0131; \u0130stanbul yay\u0131n d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda bunu yapan ilk kad\u0131n oldu.<\/p>\n<p>Ancak yazarl\u0131k kariyerinde ilerlemek, bir kad\u0131n i\u00e7in kolay de\u011fildi. Toplumdaki muhafazak\u00e2r g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fler ve \u00f6nyarg\u0131lar nedeniyle, Zaruhi ard\u0131 arkas\u0131 kesilmeyen zorluklarla kar\u015f\u0131la\u015f\u0131yordu. S\u00fcreli yay\u0131nlara d\u00fczenli olarak yaz\u0131yor, hat\u0131r\u0131 say\u0131l\u0131r bir gelir elde ediyordu; o d\u00f6nemde kad\u0131nlar aras\u0131nda epey az rastlanan bir \u015feydi bu. Fakat Zaruhi\u2019nin ailesi durumdan pek ho\u015fnut de\u011fildi. Kendi masraflar\u0131n\u0131 kar\u015f\u0131layabilmek i\u00e7in para kazanmak, bir kad\u0131n i\u00e7in al\u00e7alt\u0131c\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcyordu:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Varl\u0131kl\u0131 bir aileden geldi\u011fim i\u00e7in, annem ve babam, benim para kazan\u0131yor olu\u015fumu kabullenemediler. Annem Mill\u00ee Hastane\u2019nin m\u00fctevellilerindendi; maa\u015f\u0131mla, oradaki insanlara \u015fekerlemeler ve tatl\u0131lar al\u0131rd\u0131.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0130stanbul, 20. y\u00fczy\u0131l ba\u015flar\u0131nda canl\u0131 bir entelekt\u00fcel merkez niteli\u011findeydi. Zaruhi de, yeni yeni tan\u0131nmaya ba\u015flayan bir yazar olarak, bu d\u00fcnyan\u0131n tam ortas\u0131ndayd\u0131. Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131n\u0131n d\u0131\u015f\u0131na seyahat etme imk\u00e2n\u0131 olan ve Avrupa \u00e2detlerine ve davran\u0131\u015f bi\u00e7imlerine a\u015final\u0131k kazanan bir\u00e7ok Ermeni, Paris\u2019te yap\u0131lanlara benzer, entelekt\u00fcellerin kat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131, gen\u00e7lerin fikir al\u0131\u015fveri\u015finde bulundu\u011fu, edebiyat, m\u00fczik ve siyaset \u00fczerine konu\u015ftu\u011fu salon toplant\u0131lar\u0131 d\u00fczenliyordu. Zaruhi\u2019ye g\u00f6re, entelekt\u00fcel sohbet ve tart\u0131\u015fmalar i\u00e7in bir zemin olu\u015fturan bu toplant\u0131lar kad\u0131nlar\u0131n kat\u0131l\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 ve kamusal alanda \u00e7e\u015fitli konularda konu\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 te\u015fvik ediyordu:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;O toplant\u0131larda mill\u00ee meseleler \u00fczerine konu\u015fuluyor, edeb\u00ee ve sanatsal metinler takas ediliyor, \u015fiirler okunuyor, y\u00fcksek entelekt\u00fcel zevklere hitap eden musiki icra ediliyor, raks ediliyordu.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bu toplant\u0131lar sonralar\u0131, Zaruhi\u2019nin kad\u0131nlara ve kad\u0131n\u0131n toplumdaki yerine dair g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerinin \u015fekilleni\u015finde kayda de\u011fer bir rol oynad\u0131. Ancak birka\u00e7 y\u0131l sonra, Zaruhi\u2019nin hayat\u0131n\u0131 tamamen de\u011fi\u015ftirecek olaylar ba\u015flad\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Ermeni Soyk\u0131r\u0131m\u0131 ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, Zaruhi, T\u00fcrk h\u00fck\u00fcmetinin t\u00fcm tehditlerine ra\u011fmen ailesiyle birlikte \u0130stanbul\u2019da kald\u0131. Bir\u00e7ok Ermeni ayd\u0131nla arkada\u015f oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in, T\u00fcrk polisi taraf\u0131ndan kesintisiz \u015fekilde izleniyordu. Hat\u0131rat\u0131nda, s\u00f6z konusu ayd\u0131nlardan gelen mektuplar\u0131n hepsini imha etmek zorunda kald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, hatta g\u00fcvenlik endi\u015fesiyle, Ye\u011fya Demirciba\u015fyan\u2019\u0131n yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131 metinleri yakt\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, vatanseverlik taraftar\u0131 kitaplar\u0131 att\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 yazacakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Zaruhi t\u00fcm g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fcklere ra\u011fmen, elini kolunu ba\u011flay\u0131p oturmad\u0131. Bir vatansever olarak kendini halk\u0131na adad\u0131 ve muhta\u00e7 durumdakilere yard\u0131m etmek i\u00e7in hi\u00e7bir \u00e7abay\u0131 esirgemedi. 1919\u2019da, Ermeni K\u0131z\u0131lha\u00e7\u0131\u2019n\u0131n \u015ei\u015fli\u2019deki hastanesinin ba\u015f\u0131na ge\u00e7ti ve Ermeni Soyk\u0131r\u0131m\u0131\u2019nda ailelerini yitiren yetimlerin bak\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 \u00fcstlendi. Kendini hay\u0131r i\u015flerine vakfeden Zaruhi, katliamlar\u0131n yol a\u00e7t\u0131\u011f\u0131 korkun\u00e7 ger\u00e7ekli\u011fi bizzat tecr\u00fcbe etti. Bir\u00e7ok yetime teselli olmak, sevgi ve \u015fefkat sunmak i\u00e7in elinden ne geliyorsa yapt\u0131:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;G\u00f6zlerimle g\u00f6rd\u00fcm. Ve siz, bunu g\u00f6rmemi\u015f olan Ermeni anneler, gidip o korkun\u00e7 hakikate, dalga dalga gelip kiliselerin avlular\u0131nda biriken, ac\u0131lar i\u00e7indeki \u00e7ocuklara dokunun.
