Farkl\u0131 harabelik a\u015famalar\u0131nda bulunan bu evlerin bir k\u0131sm\u0131n\u0131n kentsel d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcm faaliyeti dahilinde bir \u201cyeniden do\u011fu\u015f\u201d ya\u015famakta oldu\u011funa da tan\u0131k olursunuz elbette. Genel olarak Osmanl\u0131 ya da \u201ceski T\u00fcrk\u201d evleri olarak an\u0131lan bu binalar\u0131n yaln\u0131zca diren\u00e7li canl\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131 ile de\u011fil, sindirilmi\u015f bir tasar\u0131m anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131 yans\u0131tt\u0131klar\u0131 i\u00e7in g\u00f6ze \u00e7arpt\u0131\u011f\u0131 s\u00f6ylenebilir. Bu \u00f6zellikler, sadece birka\u00e7 sokak \u00f6tede g\u00f6\u011fe do\u011fru yar\u0131\u015fan beton kulelerde insan\u0131n i\u00e7ini ac\u0131tacak derecede eksiktir; orada merhum Romen diktat\u00f6r \u00c7avu\u015fesku\u2019nun kentsel yenilenme esteti\u011fi \u2013belki biraz daha zevkli i\u00e7 tasar\u0131mlar ve son model beyaz e\u015fyalar ile\u2013 yeniden yarat\u0131l\u0131yor.<br \/>\nGelip ge\u00e7enlerden mimari tarihe ilgi duyan baz\u0131lar\u0131, eski evlerin \u00e7o\u011funlukla Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu\u2019nun H\u0131ristiyan tebaas\u0131 (b\u00f6lgesine g\u00f6re Rumlar, Ermeniler, S\u00fcryaniler) taraf\u0131ndan in\u015fa edildi\u011fini bilir. Haftasonu \u015fehir k\u00e2\u015fifli\u011fi yaparken pejm\u00fcrde \u015f\u0131kl\u0131k \u00f6rnekleriyle samimiyet kurmak i\u00e7in kameras\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131verenler belki bir an durup, mesela \u201ckentsel doku\u201d ya da \u201cmekan hissi\u201dnin yitirilmesi \u00fczerine kafa yorabilirler. \u0130nsanlar s\u00f6zkonusu oldu mu \u2013 neticede bu ustalar canl\u0131 bir k\u00fclt\u00fcr bar\u0131nd\u0131ran cemaatlerin birer par\u00e7as\u0131yd\u0131lar ve onlar\u0131n da bir yerlerde, belki de \u015fimdi resmi \u00e7ekilen bu evlerde, ya\u015famaya ihtiyac\u0131 vard\u0131\u2013 zihinlerde dipnot d\u00fczeyinden terfi ettirilince oturtulduklar\u0131 yer genelde \u00e7o\u011funluk ba\u011flam\u0131d\u0131r: Onlar\u0131 kaybettik; toplumumuza renk kat\u0131yorlard\u0131 ve art\u0131k burada de\u011filler.<br \/>\nBurada, \u201cKayb\u0131n\u0131z i\u00e7in \u00fczg\u00fcn\u00fcz karde\u015fim, peki ya onlar?\u201d diye bir soru akla gelebilir. Ama belki de b\u00f6yle bir muhabbete girmek i\u00e7in sokak pek uygun bir mekan de\u011fil. Neticede insanlar\u0131n hepsi gitmi\u015f de de\u011fil. T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin \u00f6nde gelen yay\u0131nevlerinden \u0130leti\u015fim taraf\u0131ndan 2011 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131nlanan ve \u00f6vg\u00fcyle kar\u015f\u0131lanan roman, d\u00fcnyan\u0131n geri kalan\u0131nda neredeyse tan\u0131nm\u0131yor. (Kitap, T\u00fcrk\u00e7e d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda sadece K\u00fcrt\u00e7ede yay\u0131mland\u0131.)<br \/>\nTabular\u0131n \u00e7ok zor \u00f6ld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc ve \u00e7o\u011fu zaman \u00f6l\u00fcrken kurban ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de Ermeni bir yazar olmasan\u0131z bile, bir soyk\u0131r\u0131m\u0131 edebi tema olarak ele almak, se\u00e7ti\u011finiz olay\u0131n ve ki\u015fisel tarihinizle ne kadar \u00f6rt\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc\u011f\u00fcnden ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131z olarak belirli bir risk ta\u015f\u0131yor (William Styron\u2019a Sophie\u2019nin Se\u00e7imi y\u00fcz\u00fcnden y\u00f6neltilen tepkileri hat\u0131rlay\u0131n). Bunlar\u0131n hi\u00e7birinden \u00e7ekinmeyen \u00c7elik, sadece birka\u00e7 karaktere odaklanarak ve hikayelerini \u00f6z\u00fcne indirgeyip k\u0131sa b\u00f6l\u00fcmler, sahneler ve par\u00e7alarla anlatarak zoru a\u015f\u0131yor. Atlama tekni\u011fine kafay\u0131 takm\u0131\u015f bir y\u00f6netmen hilesi olmaktan \u00e7ok uzak bu tarz, anlat\u0131n\u0131n rahats\u0131z edici tonuna ve karakterlerin hepsini bekleyen belirsizli\u011fe tam olarak uyuyor \u2013 ve Ermeni deneyimi \u00fczerine daha fazla ilgiyi hak eden bir ba\u015fka eseri, Peter Najarian\u2019\u0131n Belle\u011fin K\u0131zlar\u0131 roman\u0131n\u0131 hat\u0131rlat\u0131yor.<br \/>\n\u00c7elik\u2019in s\u0131k \u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fc anlat\u0131s\u0131 100 sayfan\u0131n biraz \u00fczerinde ama bu uzunluk sizi yan\u0131ltmas\u0131n; metaforlar ve g\u00f6ndermelerle dolu, \u00e7ok katmanl\u0131 metin be\u015f y\u0131lda yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f. Yazar soyk\u0131r\u0131m\u0131n ana hatlar\u0131 ve \u00f6zellikle \u201ckurtar\u0131lm\u0131\u015f\u201d k\u0131zlar olgusu konusunda bilgi sahibi olundu\u011funu varsay\u0131yor. Bu nedenle kitap, T\u00fcrk ve Ermeni tarihine yabanc\u0131 olan okurlar i\u00e7in zahmetsiz bir rota sunmuyor; T\u00fcrkiyeli okuyuculara gelince, resmi ink\u00e2r politikalar\u0131yla b\u00fcy\u00fcm\u00fc\u015f olanlar\u0131n bile kitab\u0131n \u00e7er\u00e7evesini anlamakta sorun ya\u015famayaca\u011f\u0131 rahatl\u0131kla s\u00f6ylenebilir. Bu, Ermeni Diasporas\u0131\u2019ndaki potansiyel okuyucular ve yak\u0131n tarihte Bosna, Kongo Demokratik Cumhuriyeti gibi \u00fclkelerde ya\u015fanan olaylar\u0131 kabaca bilenler i\u00e7in de ge\u00e7erli.<br \/>\nS\u00f6zkonusu \u00e7er\u00e7eve \u015f\u00f6yle \u00f6zetlenebilir: Roman\u0131n \u00e7e\u015fitli sahnelerinde bazen b\u00fcy\u00fck ve cazg\u0131r bir ekibin par\u00e7as\u0131 olarak kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z \u2013nefret edilen, ku\u015fat\u0131lan, \u015fekli belirsiz bir s\u00fcr\u00fc haline getirilip kovalanan bir insan toplulu\u011funu temsil etti\u011fi anla\u015f\u0131lan\u2013 bir s\u0131\u00e7an\u0131n neredeyse mahvetti\u011fi bir Paskalya ayinini betimleyen giri\u015f b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnden sonra kitab\u0131n anlat\u0131c\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 Hindistan, Kanada ve Avrupa\u2019da seyahatle ge\u00e7en uzun bir d\u00f6nem sonras\u0131 \u0130stanbul\u2019a vard\u0131\u011f\u0131nda g\u00f6r\u00fcr\u00fcz. Yukar\u0131da bahsetti\u011fimiz gibi in\u015faat makinelerinin \u201ct\u0131rnaklar\u0131n\u0131 ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi\u201d bu \u015fehirle g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc bir ba\u011flant\u0131 hissetmedi\u011fini s\u00f6yleyen kad\u0131n, kal\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131 m\u00fcmk\u00fcn oldu\u011funca k\u0131sa tutmaya niyetli oldu\u011funu a\u00e7\u0131klar. (\u00c7elik, anlat\u0131c\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n cinsiyetini asla a\u00e7\u0131klam\u0131yor ama yazar ile anlat\u0131c\u0131 aras\u0131nda oldu\u011fu \u00f6ne s\u00fcr\u00fclen ko\u015futluklar ve se\u00e7im yapmak zorunda olmam nedeniyle \u2013T\u00fcrk\u00e7ede \u00fc\u00e7\u00fcnc\u00fc \u015fah\u0131s cinsiyetsiz olarak ifade edilebilir ama \u0130ngilizcede bu m\u00fcmk\u00fcn de\u011fil\u2013 yaz\u0131n\u0131n kalan\u0131nda zamir kullanmak gerekti\u011finde anlat\u0131c\u0131y\u0131 kad\u0131n olarak anaca\u011f\u0131m). \u00c7ocuklu\u011funu ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi ve \u015fimdi ona miras kalm\u0131\u015f viraneyi (evi y\u0131k\u0131p bir restorana \u00e7evirmeyi planlayan, kentsel d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcm kurdu bir m\u00fcteahhitin al\u0131m-sat\u0131m i\u015flerini y\u00fcr\u00fcten bir emlak\u00e7\u0131ya) satar satmaz \u00e7ekip gitmek niyetindedir.<br \/>\nNe var ki ev deyip ge\u00e7memeli; Nicole Krauss\u2019un B\u00fcy\u00fck Ev kitab\u0131n\u0131 okuyanlar bunu iyi bilir. \u0130simsiz anlat\u0131c\u0131, bir s\u00fcre sonra odalar\u0131 dolduran an\u0131lar\u0131n, ge\u00e7mi\u015fin g\u00f6r\u00fclmemi\u015f hesaplar\u0131n\u0131n y\u00fck\u00fcyle ezilir ve evi emlak\u00e7\u0131ya her gezdiri\u015finde bo\u011fulacak gibi olur.<br \/>\nBu d\u00f6rt katl\u0131 ah\u015fap ev, kitab\u0131n ilk 10 sayfas\u0131nda aile tarihini yava\u015f yava\u015f g\u00f6z \u00f6n\u00fcne sermeye ba\u015flar. \u00d6l\u00fclerin g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcleri, evde yaln\u0131z ya\u015fayan, kimsesiz kalm\u0131\u015f bir aile b\u00fcy\u00fc\u011f\u00fc diye tan\u0131mlayabilece\u011fimiz Ramela\u2019n\u0131n huzursuz haf\u0131zas\u0131nda par\u00e7alar halinde canlan\u0131r. Ramela tak\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 bir \u015fekilde \u00f6l\u00fcler i\u00e7in yemek pi\u015firmekte ve bunlar\u0131 s\u0131\u00e7anlar\u0131n yemesi i\u00e7in ortal\u0131\u011fa b\u0131rakmaktad\u0131r. Bu b\u00f6l\u00fcmler anlat\u0131c\u0131n\u0131n zihninde \u00e7ocukluk an\u0131lar\u0131 ile, kendi ailesiyle bu evde oturdu\u011fu b\u00fcy\u00fcme d\u00f6nemi ile ve daha sonra bir \u015fekilde bu evde ya\u015famaya ba\u015flam\u0131\u015f Ramela\u2019y\u0131 ziyareti ile \u00e7arp\u0131\u015f\u0131r. Anlat\u0131c\u0131 i\u00e7in ev (belki de annesi ile babas\u0131 aras\u0131ndaki so\u011fuk sava\u015ftan ka\u00e7mak i\u00e7in) saklamba\u00e7 oynad\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve (\u015f\u00fcphesiz Ramela\u2019n\u0131n zaman zaman anlatt\u0131\u011f\u0131 ger\u00e7ek hikayelerin esin verdi\u011fi) hayali iblisler yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir yerdir. Anlat\u0131c\u0131, \u015fimdi y\u0131llar sonra bu iblisleri g\u00f6mmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015facakt\u0131r; bunda pek ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yleyemeyiz.<br \/>\nBunlar\u0131n d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda bir de anlat\u0131c\u0131ya Toronto\u2019da teslim edilmi\u015f bir sa\u00e7 buklesi meselesi vard\u0131r can s\u0131kan. Anlat\u0131c\u0131, bukleyi Harput\u2019ta g\u00f6merek, yakla\u015f\u0131k bir as\u0131r \u00f6nce izi kaybedilmi\u015f ve bir daha g\u00f6r\u00fclmemi\u015f d\u00f6rt ya\u015f\u0131nda bir k\u0131zla tekrar bir araya getirmeye s\u00f6z vermi\u015ftir. Gergin, s\u00fcrekli Xanax yutan anlat\u0131c\u0131m\u0131z evle ba\u015fa \u00e7\u0131kmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rken iki b\u00f6l\u00fcmde bir Ramela\u2019ya geri d\u00f6ner ve mahallenin 18. y\u00fczy\u0131lda in\u015fa edilmi\u015f kilisesindeki unutulmaz Paskalya ayinini takip eden gecenin hikayesine kald\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z yerden devam ederiz. Ramela\u2019n\u0131n kiliseden eve getirdi\u011fi bir mumun \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda duvarda yava\u015f yava\u015f \u00fc\u00e7 foto\u011fraf belirir. K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck k\u0131z\u0131 \u015eake\u2019yi Halep yak\u0131nlar\u0131nda bir grup yabanc\u0131ya teslim eder. Daha sonra Suriye\u2019nin i\u00e7lerinde kendisi ve b\u00fcy\u00fck k\u0131z\u0131 Mari i\u00e7in g\u00fcvenli bir yer bulur. K\u0131sa patlamalarla olu\u015fturulan metnin yan\u0131nda \u00f6rne\u011fin Musa Da\u011f\u2019da K\u0131rk G\u00fcn\u2019\u00fcn kal\u0131nl\u0131\u011f\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fcnde, buna \u00d6l\u00fcm F\u00fcg\u00fc\u2019n\u00fcn d\u00fczyaz\u0131 hali denebilir.<br \/>\nRoman\u0131n \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcl\u00fc tonu, y\u00fcr\u00fcy\u00fc\u015fler s\u0131ras\u0131nda ge\u00e7en baz\u0131 b\u00f6l\u00fcmlerde s\u0131n\u0131r\u0131 zorluyor (Ararat filminde Atom Egoyan\u2019\u0131n kontroll\u00fc i\u00e7 mekanlar\u0131n\u0131n birden a\u00e7\u0131l\u0131p \u00e7\u00f6lde y\u00fcr\u00fcyen binlerce insan\u0131 g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi sahneyi hat\u0131rlay\u0131n) ama o zaman bile kitab\u0131n dili ba\u011f\u0131rt\u0131s\u0131z ve dolamba\u00e7l\u0131.
